Billy,
That project sounds cool!
Take a look at our Theater Kits here:

I’d suggest using a standard 5.1 type system for the TV end of the room and adding another pair of the same type of speakers for the other end of the room. Maybe splitting the difference of space between the pool table and the bar.
Mount the rear speakers of the TV far enough back that it envelopes the listening area of the TV, but isn`t too far toward the pool table.
In looking for a receiver, look for one that has an AB type speaker output function AND a surround mode called something like 5 channel stereo or All Round Stereo or something like that. That will make all your speakers in the room tied into a basic music mode and they will all get only left/right music info. That`s for when you`re just playing around.
We recommend brands like Yamaha, Denon, Harman/Kardon and Onkyo. We don`t sell any electronics.

> I have a 28×32 open basement that I am decorating using a Nascar theme. I have a suspended ceiling that can be divided into 4 quadrants since the room is open.
> I have a regular TV at one end on one side of the room and a bar at the opposite side then on the other half I will have a pool table and an air hockey table. I do need to buy a stereo system of some kind and want to be able to hook up a DVD/VCR, Cassette, possible turntable all of which I will have to purchase and also the TV.
> What is your advice on what kind of equipment and speakers that I should use for the least amount of money?
