Don’t worry about the wattage. Any receiver out there is going to work fine with the speakers…any speakers really out there in the consumer range. See this conversation about wattage for some context:
The reason wattage doesn’t matter too much is because the slope of wattage to decibels is logrithmic. So how to express that is starting with the efficiency of the speakers and progressing. Our ears can only discern the difference of 3 decibels. When we hear something “get louder or quieter”, that’s 3 db. To get 3 db increases, the power needs to be doubled.
We measure speakers efficiencies (sensitivity) like this:
Example: HD650.2W
Sensitivity: 89 db measured with 1 watt / 1 meter away
92db: 2 watts
95db: 4
98db: 8
101db: 16
104db: 32
107db: 64
110db: 128
Now this is where receiver makers stop. To get a minuscule difference, they would have to MASSIVELY increase their power supplies. So they stop around that magic 100 watt area.
