Meet Mandi, Inwall Store Call Center Coordinator

 

This is Mandi:

 

 

Mandi was my first contact at The Answer Network and she’s stayed as our main coordinator of customer service.

 

She’s been so positive with her helping us through the growing pains of getting all of our calls answered by a live person.  She’s been great at helping her operators become accustomed to Inwall Store’s back end system, which includes looking up basic information like order confirmation and tracking numbers.  The operators even know how to navigate our site pretty well to help find basic information.  However, their main task is to make sure a person is greeting everybody ‘at the door’ and passing along information for us to process and help further if an expert hand is needed.

 

Here’s a little of her story:

 

How did you got into the call answer/call center biz?   

I started a job right out of high school as a telephone operator for a catalog company.  I’d been there for about a year part time when my Dad started The Answer Network.  I actually did not work with him at first as I was also employed full time by a local bank in their loan processing department.  My father approached me about replacing his receptionist who had turned in her notice. 

I started out doing the reception work for all of our companies (we have 3) and eventually started in the call center part time.  From there, I worked through the ranks to my current position of VP.  I don’t answer the phones nearly as often as I once did but will help out if there is a schedule glitch or major weather event.  I enjoy the opportunity to grow the business, meet with the customers and be much more up to speed on the technical aspects of the call center now. 

What do you like about your hometown?

My hometown is very small and rural.  I have a love/hate relationship with the drive to get everywhere.

Would you live anywhere else?

There are several other places I would live; Smith Mountain Lake on the waterfront, Pauley’s Island, SC or the Florida Keys…the older I get, the more I hate the winter!

What do you like to do during the summer?

My in-laws have property at the lake so we spend all of free time in the summer there.  

Winter?

Staying inside where it’s warm.  This is my crafting season!  

Weekends?

I’m a Dance Mom – not the kind you see on TV; the kind that shuttles the girls to rehearsals, washes cars for fundraisers, and travels to competitions occasionally.  I also enjoy spending time with friends and family.  My husband is part of an acoustic duo so attending his shows is part of my weekend routine as well.
